Scot Ackerman, MD, FACR, is a board-certified radiation oncologist, Medical Director of Ackerman Cancer Center and Medical Director of Ackerman Urology. After completing his training at Columbia University in New York City, he relocated to Jacksonville, where he has been in private practice for more than 35 years. He has been an integral force in advancing cancer care across Florida, leading the world's first physician-owned practice to offer proton therapy to patients.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ackerman has been recognized for his dedication to providing exceptional healthcare to the Jacksonville community. He received the 2023 We Care Jacksonville, Inc. Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2016 We Care Jacksonville Award of Philanthropy for his ongoing commitment to ensuring that high-quality care is accessible to all residents in Northeast Florida.
Dr. Ackerman currently serves on the board of the Ackerman Cancer Foundation, was appointed to the Florida Board of Medicine by Governor Ron DeSantis, and works alongside Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis as one of the medical professionals serving on the Florida Cancer Connect Collaborative.
